Mr. Stanley P. Wilk

Mr. Stanley Peter Wilk, 89, of Cheshire, died on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Craneville Place in Dalton.
He was born in Adams on June 6, 1928, son of the late Frank and Sophie (Bezak) Wilk. He attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School with the class of 1946.
Mr. Wilk worked for many years in the Power Transformer Division of General Electric Co., Pittsfield until his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. He was a former member of the Polish National Alliance, the St. Stanislaus Kostka Society and the Cheshire Rod & Gun Club. He had coached for Cheshire Little League and was an avid New York Yankee and Giants fan. He was an avid candle pin bowler, enjoyed hunting, fishing, polka dancing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, the former Joan L. Kittler, whom he married on April 30, 1949.
One daughter, Mary Ellen Baker and her husband Neil of Cheshire;
three sons, Peter Wilk and his wife Anna of Jacksonville, FL, Paul Wilk and his wife Jeanne of Cheshire and John Wilk and his partner Benjamin Chapman of San Francisco, CA;
four grandchildren and three step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Thaddeus and Matthew Wilk and by three sisters, Mary Bernat, Josephine Pietras and Jean Knybel.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 16, at 8:45 A.M. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, celebrated by Rev. Matthew Guidi, Pastor.
Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery.
Calling hours are Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
