Mr. Jonathan Harraden, 70, of Adams, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Weymouth, MA on April 6, 1947, son of the late Fred and Helen (Chambers) Harraden. He graduated from the Woodstock Academy in Woodstock, CT and then went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Nichols College.
Jonathan was a decorated Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the United States Army until receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1969.
He retired as a supervisor from Specialty Minerals, Adams, MA.
Jonathan is survived by his life partner, Belinda A. Schutz of Adams; three sons, Shaun Harraden and his wife Vikki of Fredericksburg, VA , Abraham Harraden of West Dover, VT and Ronald Williamson, Jr., and his wife Tara of Otis; two daughters, Lora McGrath and her husband Shawn of Cheshire and Debra Alibozek of Pittsfield; a son-in law, James Alibozek, and a daughter-in-law, Dawn Bombardier;
his twin brother David Harraden and his wife Sandee of Everglade City, FL; a sister Barbara Morse and her husband Stewart of Woodstock, CT; a brother in law, Charlie Fennick and his current wife Joan of East Lyme, CT; eight grandchildren; Axl, Keagan, Alannah, Averie, Austin, and Melinda, Jenna and Jordan; two great grandchildren, Jason and Blake;
one stepson, Jeffrey and his children, Jacob, Brianna, Hanna, Madeline, Aaron and Ryan, and a step daughter Kimberly and her children Sheila, Audrey and Brody, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Fred Harraden III and a sister, Sarah Fennick. Memorial donations can be made to PopCares ( in Jonathan's name.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 10, at 2:00 P.M. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Hoosac St., Adams, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti.
Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
