Mr. Harvey J. Richard, 82, of North Adams, died on Thursday, March 29, 2017 at Berkshire Medical Center, North Adams.
He was born in North Adams on March 29, 1935, son of the late Solomon and Rosa (LaBonte) Richard. He attended schools in North Adams.
Mr. Richard was a Veteran of the Korean War, having served with the United States Navy until receiving his Honorable Discharge on April 26, 1956.
Mr. Richard worked for many years as the materials manager for the former General Cable Co., Williamstown until he retired. Following his retirement, Mr. Richard worked for Williams College and was a security officer for the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown.
He was a member of the Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion, North Adams and the Greylock Club, North Adams.
His wife, the former Carol Cooper, whom he married on November 24, 1956, died on March 24, 2008.
He is survived by three sons, David Richard of North Adams, Dennis Richard and his wife Pamela of Adams and Paul Richard and his wife Holly of North Adams. A daughter, Brenda Nolan and her husband William of Clarksburg. One sister, Jeannette Lussier of Clarksburg, eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Hermas "Pete" Richard and Jean "Butch" Richard and by three sisters, Theresa Worthington, Marguerite Corbiere and Bertha Arigoni.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 13, at 11:00AM in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
