Mr. Casimer Joseph "Casey" Czubryt, 91, of Adams, died Wednesday afternoon, April 12, 2017, at North Adams Commons.
He was born in Adams on February 4, 1926, a son of the late Stanley and Julia (Ciulonka) Czubryt, and attended Adams schools.
Casey was a Veteran of World War II, serving as a Seaman First Class with the US Navy until his Honorable Discharge in 1946.
He had worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Corp. in Adams until the mill closed in 1957. He then worked as a maintenance man for the late Rev. Edmund M. Kempinski, former pastor of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, at his residence in Adams; and also worked as a bartender at the former St. Michael's Hall on Summer St. in Adams.
He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, and a member of St. Michael's Society.
Casey was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
He is survived by his sister, Frieda Zabek, of Adams; a sister-in-law, Gladys Czubryt, of Adams; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his seven brothers, including Theodore, John, Stephen, Frank, Joseph, Stanley and William Czubryt; and by a sister, Josephine Campedelli.
Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
